62 arrested in Amsterdam after violent attacks on Israeli soccer fans

I do understand that this reminds us of pogroms, and that this has happened in Amsterdam is reprehensible,

This outburst of violence toward Israeli supporters is unacceptable and cannot be defended in any way. There is no excuse for the antisemitic behavior exhibited last night,

In several places in the city, supporters were attacked. The police had to intervene several times, protect Israeli supporters and escort them to hotels. Despite the massive police presence in the city, Israeli supporters have been injured,

the Amsterdam statement said

An unverified video circulating on social media, allegedly filmed on Thursday, appeared to show some Maccabi Tel Aviv fans chanting in Hebrew

UN human rights office spokesman Jeremy Laurence told a media briefing in Geneva

It’s against everything we’re proud of in Amsterdam. I’m very ashamed of the behaviour that was shown last night. This is nothing like Amsterdam,

Completely unacceptable antisemitic attacks on Israelis. I am in close contact with everyone involved,

the fans chanted, using the acronym of the Israeli military, as they shook their fists

I'm very scared, it's very striking. This shouldn't happen to anyone, specifically in Amsterdam. Lots of friends were hurt, injured, kidnapped, robbed, and the police didn't come to help us,
