I am so proud of the race we ran and the way we ran it. Over the 107 days of this campaign, we have been intentional about building community and building coalitions, bringing people together from every walk of life and background, united by love of country with enthusiasm and joy in our fight for America's future. And we did it with the knowledge that we all have so much more in common than what separates us,

Harris said in the speech at her alma mater

While I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fuelled this campaign,

she told supporters on Wednesday at her alma mater, Howard University, a historically Black college

At her campaign’s final rally in Philadelphia, Ricky Martin performed and Fat Joe implored fellow Latinos to back Harris

It revealed to me the heart of us as a nation,

47-year-old Janeen Davis, a county government employee said

As an immigrant myself [from Belize], I feel bad about the people who are going to be left behind,

My personal opinion is because of how the transition happened last election,

Davis said

A divided nation can’t stand, so it’s going to make us more susceptible to outside threats.”

Since exit polls revealed how divided the electorate is, Davis warned

Brown also called into question the Democratic party’s strategy, saying

The fight for freedom, opportunity, for fairness and dignity of all people will continue,

she added

This is a time to organise, to mobilise and to stay engaged for the sake of freedom and justice and the future that we all know we can build together,

Harris said

The fight for our freedom will take hard work, but as I always say we like hard work; the fight for our country is always worth it,

she said

But hear me when I say, the light of America's promise will always burn bright as long as we never give up and as long as we keep fighting,

she added

Sometimes the fight takes a while, but that doesn't mean we won't win,
