Blinken heads to Europe for Ukraine talks ahead of Trump return

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken has pledged to strengthen support for Ukraine before the end of Joe Biden’s presidency in January.

Ukraine and its allies have no idea how Mr Trump will address Russia’s full-scale war against its pro-western neighbour, which he claims he can stop in one day.

As well as providing billions of dollars in military aid for Ukraine, President Joe Biden worked to expand NATO and rallied countries around the world to isolate Russia in the wake of Moscow's 2022 full-scale invasion.

The almost three-year war has shown no signs of winding down.
